  1. I guess I read wrong. 😣 Glad to hear you are still collecting them. I'll check back for your PM.
  2. Which ones would you say are rare? I assume the Police Messenger is one of them. Did I read correctly above that you are selling off the helmets from your book?
  3. Hello Gentlemen, I have not been on the forum in a while, but some new helmets were just listed on a dealer site and I wanted to let you know just in case anyone is interested. The picture below shows the ones that were just listed, and here is a link to the page: https://www.germanmilitaria.com/Advanced/AdvancedViewFeb25th2020.html

Weapons and Ordnance in my collection...

Thank you or all the positive feedback guys.
  5. We have a celebrity in our midst! ? Nice article.
  6. The first one will go well on my WWII Police Sergeant mannequin, but I especially like the 2nd one because of my interest in WWII British Bomb Disposal. I have a large collection of BD items that this goes well with. It was found at a gun show here in the US, so I was surprised by that. I am not sure about the green. I did not really notice the color differences until I took that picture. I will look at it in the sunlight tomorrow and let you know. Is there any significance to the lower band on the first helmet not being broken in the front?
  7. Here are a couple Police helmets I added this year. Anyone have any idea about the one with the bomb symbol on it? Perhaps a constable assigned to bomb disposal perimeter guard duty?
  8. I'm a little behind on viewing and replying to this thread, but I have to say, I'm enjoying seeing these great new examples you guys have posted while I was gone. 2 Black Bands I love the helmet with the gas cape, congratulations on your handy work getting that to drape down again. I also like the helmet in the carrying pouch. ?
  9. Just wanted to show a couple pictures of some of the weapons and munitions in one corner of my museum room.
  10. Does anyone know what happened to all of the cork London Fire Brigade helmets from the Blitz period? I've been looking for one for a few years now, but have only seen a single example come up for sale, and that seller decided to keep it.
  11. Nice catch Martin. Congratulations! John
  12. I like that Queen's Messenger helmet. Congratulations!
  13. Hello Gentlemen, I am working on putting together a mannequin of a Queen's Own Cameron Highlander officer of WWII wearing his military tunic with a kilt and sporan. Does anyone have a period picture in their collection that you can post showing what this uniform ensemble would have looked like? Or perhaps a picture of a mannequin in your collection wearing the same uniform setup? The tunic I have has the 8th Army symbol on the ribbon bar, so I assume it is from the 2nd or 5th battalion, but pictures from any battalion would be helpful. Thanks John
  14. Wow, there are so many different helmets out there, although I think 2 Black Bands and TinLid own most of them. A nice addition Black Bands, maybe not overly exciting, but definitely a necessary part of the family. The rest of the family is really nice too.
