  1. The Ritterkreuzträgers in Color Thread Well, once more I'm here to start a thread in an attempt to share more photos in this great collecting world. I've been gathering photos for my PC archive for nearly 4/5 years and I think the more we share the more we learn.   11. Hi guys! Little is know about Generaloberst Alfred Jodl and his Knighs Cross award in 1945. Knight's Cross on 6 May 1945 as Generaloberst and Chef des Wehrmachtfuhrungsstabes im OKW 865th Oak Leaves on 10 May 1945 as Generaloberst and Chef des Wehrmachtfuhrungsstabes im OKW und stellv. Chef OKW The OdR recognized the award and date, although it was unlawfully presented by Karl Dönitz. Nowadays many debates have been raised whereas this ceremony was legitimate or not. I began a search for evidence and photos that could show us this "unusual" KC holder! Here are they. Maybe some one can give us more info on this. It was comment on WAF, that Jodl's medals were taken by a British soldier after 1945.

Franz Joseph I of Austria Pour le mérite am: 27 August 1917 (Oak Leaves also awarded on the same date) He was awarded the Pour le Mérite with Oakleaves as a gesture of goodwill and as a traditional medal exchange between himself and Kaiser Wilhelm II. There were very few Pour le Mérite awards with Oakleaves given to foreigners during the war.

    A terrible lost! Despite the fact that I was aware of EJ longtime illness, It came as a shock... he was a wonderful, kind, humble and very generous person. Always willing to help others in this hobby and, more important, always standing up for just causes! He was a very good friend that I never had the chance to meet face to face, but we exchange many many emails over the years. He will be missed a lot! His giant heart and soul will be among this place for ever. My condolences to the family and friends.
