The liner string is just string my mom put in there when I was about 10. I actually used to wear this helmet while playing "army" with the other neighborhood kids.

    My meager collection

The Soldbuch is empty. It is either unissued or a reproduction. I do not know how to tell if it is a reproduction or not. John Winner

    My meager collection

This is my very small collection. It includes World War I and II items. I am happy to furnish photos of any item in this collection.

I have a question about the Ritterkreuz section of the forum. I have noticed that it is pretty sparse and was wondering if anyone is allowed to add information. I have been working on a multiple volume compilation of Ritterkreuzträger for my own use and if my information is up to the level that is expected of this forum perhaps I could help out a bit. As of now I am only working on Volume III, but as you all know research takes time. I am creating this for all of us that do not have access to the big muli-volume works that exist. Here is volume I (Adolf Able - Fritz Axtmann) so you can see my work. : http://www.scribd.com/doc/62282156/Ritterkreuztrager-of-the-Wehrmacht-and-SS-1939-1945-Vol-I Here is Volume II (Karl Baacke - Rudolf Bayer) : http://www.scribd.com/doc/93206127/Ritterkreuztrager-of-the-Wehrmacht-and-SS-1939-1945-Vol-II John Winner
  8. Here is my M42 hkp64 (3226). It would appear to has seen a long service life as it has been repainted twice, once whitewashed over original color then painted over with a dark color again. Unfortunately they decal has been dug out at a rather early date (by a friend of my father) probably in the early 60's. My father was given the helmet by his Boy Scout leader sometime in the 50's. More photos of the details are available if needed. John Winner
