Interesting that the Principality posted it out to him without any sort of covering, I assume this must have been standard procedure.

Richard, Great internet find. Thanks for hunting that one down and sharing. I agree yours does seem to be some sort of award document, it looks in really good condition as well. Nice item to own.

The post card picture is of Adolf II, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_II,_Prince_of_Schaumburg-Lippe I cannot make out most of the writing on the document, but it seems to come from or belong to someone from Bückeburg, which is a town in the old principality of Schaumburg-Lippe. Dated 23rd February 1914. Sorry not much help I am afraid.

Jerry, I have seen this type of lug as well for a UK MK1 helmet, is it correct? -

And a Black 'Cut out' IWB: -
A couple of my wound badges, these are the 'Cut out' types. A Silver IWB marked E.S.(maybe for the manufacturer Eugen Schmidhäußler, Pforzheim?) If anybody knows for sure please can you let me know. Thanks.

I am no expert but it looks similar to a WW1 M1917 USA 'Doughboy brodie' helmet. -
A Happy New Year to all. Best wishes in 2021.

I think the manufacturer KB is Koch & Bergfeld of Bremen.

Two cased MVK3 Bayern
Graham B replied to Hans Kondor's topic in German Empire: Orders, Awards & Decorations
I think the case on the left is for a 3rd class with a crown. The one on the right is a 3rd class without a crown. Whereas both medals shown are without crowns. -

A stunning Godet 'Type B' with its core still intact. Do you still own it?
