Richard,
Great internet find. Thanks for hunting that one down and sharing.
I agree yours does seem to be some sort of award document, it looks in really good condition as well. Nice item to own.

The post card picture is of Adolf II, Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_II,_Prince_of_Schaumburg-Lippe
I cannot make out most of the writing on the document, but it seems to come from or belong to someone from Bückeburg, which is a town in the old principality of Schaumburg-Lippe. Dated 23rd February 1914.
Sorry not much help I am afraid.

Jerry, once again thanks for the info and for the pictures.

Jerry,
I have seen this type of lug as well for a UK MK1 helmet, is it correct?

Mariniss,

I am no expert but it looks similar to a WW1 M1917 USA 'Doughboy brodie' helmet.

A Happy New Year to all. Best wishes in 2021.

I think the manufacturer KB is Koch & Bergfeld of Bremen.

I think the case on the left is for a 3rd class with a crown. The one on the right is a 3rd class without a crown. Whereas both medals shown are without crowns.

A stunning Godet 'Type B' with its core still intact. Do you still own it?

Hodge,
I agree with Ben and think believe your cross is a Jacob Leser Type 3 with a matching case.

Amiklic1,
Great information and collection. The engraved EK1 in the case looks like a sandcasted Johann Wagner & Söhne. Does it have any makers marks on it?

This is the Belgian certificate that goes with the Belgian Croix de guerre from my last post above. Awarded on the 27th February 1920 to a Canadian soldier in the Canadian field Artillery.

A vertical pin badge as well as an early horizontal pin badge, very nice.
What is the date on the certificate?

Grimlin13,
Thanks. Munich April 1915. They probably are Bavarians then.
-
JustinG,
Thanks for sharing. Some really interesting footage and information.

Sadly I heard that Alder has passed away recently. He had the most incredible Helmet collection I have ever seen. My regards go out to his family for their loss.

Interesting that the Principality posted it out to him without any sort of covering, I assume this must have been standard procedure.
