Kriegsmarine Admirals and their medal/ribbon bars.
  1. Konteradmiral August Böning unknown award

Where did you find this photo of his awards groupping? Is it reliable enough to confirm he recieved the U-Boat War Badge? Maybe it's an error it isn't listed in the Rank List?
  2. Konteradmiral August Böning unknown award

The german wiki says: "In the First World War , the award could be awarded to anyone who had performed at least three enemy rides/patrols on a submarine"
  3. Konteradmiral August Böning unknown award

He served as Half-Flotilla-Paymaster, Submarine-Half-Flotilla Constantinople (30 Aug 1918-15 Sep 1918), would that make him eligible for the U-Boat War Badge?
  4. Help Translating Text

But I thought "weder" meant "neither", at least that's what google says. The man in question retired in 1928 and wasn't active again. This is how google translator translates this: "After the discharge neither at the disposal of the Kriegsmarine, nor used for active military service."
  5. Help Translating Text

Please help me translate this sentence as accurate as possible: "Nach der Verabschiedung weder zur Verfügung der Kriegsmarine gestellt, noch zum aktiven Wehrdienst herangezogen." Many thanks!
  6. Awards of 4 Admiralrichters

So just the EK2 for Becker? Because I can't see the EK1 on his uniform.
  7. Vizeadmiral (Ing.) Ernst Friedrich (1874-1957): Awards

Ok, thanks. Do you have the 1922 Rangliste?
  8. Konteradmiral August Böning unknown award

Thanks Pierce! Is it confirmed he recieved the U-boat War Badge (1918)? He isn't wearing it on any of his photos.
  9. Can someone please help me with his awards, this is what I have so far: -Iron Cross (1914) 1st Class -Iron Cross (1914) 2nd Class -Prussian Order of the Crown 4th Class -Prussian Centenary Medal 1897 -Knight's Cross 1st Class of the Saxon Albrecht Order -Prussian Long Service Award 3rd Class -Prussian Long Service Cross 1st Class (25 years) -The Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 with Swords (not confirmed, I am not sure if he was awarded this because he wasn't in active service after 1927. Is there proof of veterans recieveing this award after retirement and not being in active service after that?) I was unable to look up his awards in the 1922 Rangliste, if someone has that particular Rangliste please take a look at his awards (he will be under Engineer officers). Thanks.
  10. Could the award below the Iron Cross 1st Class be the War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords? Böning was the only Konteradmiral Verwaltungsoffizier, an Administrative Officer. As such he was appointed as General Advisor in the Naval-Personnel-Office, OKM and Chief Of the Department of Food Supply and Clothing in the High Administration Staff of the Naval High Command Baltic Sea, and for these kind of appointments the War Merit Cross was often rewarded, am I right? On the second photo we can also see his ribbon bar (although in poor quality), could the second ribbon be the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords? Please tell me what you think. Thanks
  11. Senatspräsident Wilhelm Sellmer Is the first ribbon the EK 2? The quality is bad to determine what the other ribbons are...
  12. Awards of 4 Admiralrichters

Here is more about Marinerichters (in german): http://de.metapedia.org/wiki/Marinerichter You can translate it with google translator.
  13. Awards of 4 Admiralrichters

Neither of these 4 Admiralrichters served on a battleship though. They all had "desk" posts in high command.
  14. Awards of 4 Admiralrichters

There is unfortunately no info about their specific duties besides their asssignments provided in the links above. But I guess they were responsible for all legal/court things in their posts.
  15. Awards of 4 Admiralrichters

That's too bad... Do you think Bucholz recieved the 1914 or 1939 version of the Iron Cross 1st Class? And what about The Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 with Swords and the Wehrmacht Long Service Awards for all 4 of them? Here are their bios if you want to check: http://www.oocities.org/~orion47/WEHRMACHT/KRIEGSMARINE/Konteradmirals/BECKER_PAUL.html http://www.geocities.ws/orion47.geo/WEHRMACHT/KRIEGSMARINE/Konteradmirals/BUCHOLZ_WILHELM.html http://www.geocities.ws/orion47.geo/WEHRMACHT/KRIEGSMARINE/Konteradmirals/ECKHARDT_KURT.html http://www.oocities.org/~orion47/WEHRMACHT/KRIEGSMARINE/Konteradmirals/LORENZEN_ERICH.html Regards.
