Hello all Here is oneother of my few "Fliegendes Personal" Sb. This one belong to a Uffz. who was Beobachter in two main bomber units : Kampfgeschwader 76 and later Kampfgeschwader 66 (I. Gr.). After have been incorporated in a Heer Pz Jg. unit, the man joined the Luftwaffe and after more than one year in Lw basic training unit and later bomber school, he arrived to 10./KG 76 in july 1942. Then, he participated to all main commitments of the unit over Mediterranea : Greece, Crete, north Africa, Sicily, Italy, southern France. I cannot detailed them because of my difficulties in english. Between march and summer 44, I./KG 76 was formed on new Arado 234 turbo airplane. But a the end of the summer 44, this man joined a new unit : I./KG 66. After few months in Erganzug Staffel of KG 66, he joined 1./KG 66 at the end of 44. That one flew on Ju 188 or Do 217, for its specific missions of lighting/marquing (Beleuchtung). Escaped of many dangerous missions during 3 years of activ duty in the air, this observer died few days before end of war, during a transfer to Schleswig-Holstein : He received of course all the equipment for aircrews : Two times sick, first when KG 76 was in southern France and then hospitalized in Paris ("Clichy"). The second illness was more serious and after he spent few months in a bomber reserve unit : The Auszeichnungen page ; note the error of year for the award of EK 1 :
