  1. Hi, all! My name is Grant and I'm new to the forum thing. This is my first post, so please go easy on me if my forum etiquette is not perfect or I posted in the wrong place, but I am sure I will learn as I go along. I've been collecting for a while and finally decided to join a forum. I will likely use this account to gain the insight of others who may have more experience than me. I recently picked up a WWII German Deutsche Wehrmacht armband, the late war printed yellow one. There's some stitching missing but the main thing I'm concerned about is the printing (mainly the font of the text). I've seen the issue stamp faked before as well. I know there were many made and many variations throughout the war. Do you all think it's legit or fake? I will post pictures. Thanks in advance for any insight provided! res
  2. Hey, everyone! Just picked up this armband, trying to get more opinions on it. I've gotten a few that are positive, but I could use as much insight as possible as I can't find many references to these. It's an SS-Sonderkommando armband stamped for the SS with what appears to be a legit stamp, marked to Berlin. Stitching and black light look good. There's visible staining all throughout and the ink appears good to me. I'll post a few pictures. Help would be much appreciated as SS stuff can be hard to authenticate. Thanks in advance for any help!

  4. Is this helmet authentic or a reproduction?
  5. Hi, I was hoping that someone might be able to identify this for me, please? It appears to be German, and I'm guessing some kind of artillery gun-sight. I've had a brief look on Google but can't yet find any image that match this. Any help is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the quality of the photos!
  6. I was given this poster by my uncle which was in a box from an estate sale, I’m wondering if anyone here may know anything about the poster if it may be real or not? I haven’t removed it out of the frame because the frame has had the backing nailed on. any info would be appreciated. thanks
  7. I am no expert so forgive me if I am off track but to me the gray helmet looks like a possible WW2 M33 Helmet with an eagle insignia on the front. I cannot locate that insignia anywhere. It could be polish or something else but I can't confirm anything. The other three I am unsure of although the black one looks to be a WW1 Brodie helmet. I will try to get better images but any help with ID would be appreciated.
  8. When sorting a medal collection, we discovered a German Cross in Gold. It matches any description of a German Cross but I'm aware reproductions are many. I was looking for information towards the cross, and if it is infact a reproduction. The reverse has no number on the pin face and is held with only 3 Rivets. Thanks in advance for any tips identifying the authenticity of this medal.
  9. A recent pick up of a very salty semi relic Prussian bugle said to be a battlefield pickup and it was recently used to play the last post by a friend of the seller. Clearly dated 1915 and maker marked for Konrad Eschenbach a well known maker of instruments until his son took over in 1917. This type of brass bugle with nickel fitting was replaced by an all brass version later in 1915 which was then quickly superseded by an all dull iron version until wars end.
  10. Hello, I have a picture of a pair of WW2 Era German Kriegsmarine EM pants. They look good to me, they are well marked. I would like a second opinion just to make sure I am not missing any red flags, thanks.

  12. Hello, I have recently discovered that there are a lot of altered and fake militaria floating around these days. I am trying to find an original WW2 Kriegsmarine tunic for my collection. I am a novice at collecting and willing to learn all I can. I have some pics of one I have found. Thank you for your time and help.
  13. Hello, I am considering purchasing a Kriegsmarine tunic and pants that I have found. I don't know much about the tunics and was wondering if I could get some opinions on if the tunic and pants appears to be authentic WW2 German era and if they go together correctly. Thanks for your help!
  14. I recently acquired a Luftwaffe mug and would like to know if it's real or not. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. http://postimg.org/image/6h1o1ehe7/ http://postimg.org/image/cs6vhtimn/ http://postimg.org/image/lr1j8lcwf/ http://postimg.org/image/gd2r11n67/
  15. Hi guys, I'm new here and was wondering if anyone could identify this piece and whether or not it's original or just a worn out fake. A few details to add that you may not see in the picture are the black-white-red krokades on the left side. I also noticed that there were no ventilation holes on the spike, and the base is oval, unlike other models I've been able to look up online. Thanks in advance!
  16. WWI German shell case for the 10.5cm Le FH16 Howitzer, dated 1916. Some good pictures of the Howitzer shown on another forum. http://landships.activeboard.com/t51621247/german-105cm-le-fh16-howitzer-walkaround/?page=1
  17. This is my personal website based around my WW2 uniform and headgear collection, in the form of an on-line museum. The collection is mainly focused on WWII but does have examples from other eras. The main categories are Great Britain and the USA, but I also have "exhibits" from France and Germany, such as helmets and gas masks. I have also added some interesting information to help research and referencing, as well as book reviews and other info which collectors may find useful and interesting. You can find the website here: http://www.theocadcollection.com/ Thanks for looking!
