    Mystery Egyptian Helmet

My grandfather sent me this from Israel, it was given to him from a friend who fought in the Six Day War. It seems like a paratrooper's helmet due to the low profile but I haven't found anything on it. Egyptians mostly used USSR helmets and gear but I couldn't find anything about this type of helmet. Do you know what this helmet could be? Thanks. :)
  2. Hi there guys, my first post... I collect all kinds of military helmets and have seen this for sale... I have never seen a Brodie with this type of liner attachment, and am thinking about purchasing it, however as the style is unknown to me, I don't know what its worth... I don't even know if it's WWI or WWII, neither does the bloke who's selling it... I would greatly appreciate any help in identifying the helmet please. Many thanks in advance guys, Coldfusion.
  3. I've been trying to figure out what helmet this is for months with no luck finding anything. I've talked to a few collectors and they had no idea. I've now resorted to the internet. There are no stamps anywhere, just remanence of a sticker on the inside. The clip on the chin strap says "anchor bran" with an anchor stamp. I've attached some pictures, hopefully this is enough information. Thank you!
  4. This is a British WW2 era Kelly helmet, that I thought that I would show, since I am new to this website. The Kelly helmet has an adjustable liner and was developed for the second world war, there is three adjustment options but there is only one size of liner, since it is adjustable. There is a pad in the middle of the liner which is depicted in the picture of the liner. The "Kelly" helmets have a unique screw on the top which is another way to identify a helmet as being a "Kelly" helmet. When they were first being produced the manufacturers would take a WW1 helmet shell, repaint it, and then put a new liner inside of it (this was ceased later on). I find these helmets interesting as they are unique in the sense that the liners were adjustable.
  5. I have heard that there is asbestos in Mark 1 Brodie's, but what about M1917A1s? If so is it in the wool strip in the helmet?
  6. Is this helmet authentic or a reproduction?

    M1 helmet markings

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows if these markings have any significant meaning? I bought this in Vietnam so it could possibly be used by the arvn. thanks
  8. Just wondering if anyone can tell me if these markings have any significant meaning? I’ve tried looking online but haven’t had any luck. thanks
  9. 1956 dated British Airborne forces steel parachute combat helmet. It has a dark two tone brown and green textured camo paint job with various signs of flashes and numbers on the side and also to the rear as well as traces of more than one name inside it. Shell is made by ROC and the liner by CCL.
  10. Hello all, Would it be possible for somebody to help me ID a British helmet please? I picked this up at the weekend as I liked the paint finish but I am unsure as to whether or not it is WW2? The green finish is textured inside and out, but the markings are faint - possibly SS 41? Does anybody know what the black stripes are too? The liner has seen better days but stamped CCL 1941 and I think the strap a mkIII? Any help very much appreciated. Thank you, Shaun
  11. First of all, sorry about the formatting of the pictures, I'm new to this site and advice would be appreciated. I would very much like any information or resources about this helmet, as I know very little about its past. Thanks in advance.
  12. Hello! This is my first post here, so I apologize if this is in the wrong place or any other such mistakes. Here is my double decal SS helmet. I have posted these pictures before on another forum, but I'd love to get some second opinions and I'd be especially grateful for information about who would have been using this helmet and what the would have been doing. Thanks for looking!
  13. I am no expert so forgive me if I am off track but to me the gray helmet looks like a possible WW2 M33 Helmet with an eagle insignia on the front. I cannot locate that insignia anywhere. It could be polish or something else but I can't confirm anything. The other three I am unsure of although the black one looks to be a WW1 Brodie helmet. I will try to get better images but any help with ID would be appreciated.
  14. I was hoping someone might help me identify this helmet as I am fairly new to collecting British items. I'm fairly sure this is just a standard mkII infantrymans helmet manufactured 1943. I can see the manufacturer is printed as RO COLU but does anyone have any idea who this is? Additionally while I can tell the leather lining was likely a recent refurbishment by the helmets previous owner it has an old leather chin strap which based on its condition appears pre 50's. This was non-standard on mkII's so does anyone know where this could have come from? I was thinking it could have been one of the ones the ones the Dutch replaced when they bought a bunch at the end of ww2 but I couldn't find a reference picture. Any help is massively appreciated, thanks a lot! http://s345.photobucket.com/user/Samhelm/media/helmet1_zpsolqktgks.jpg.html?filters[user]=145987222&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=2 http://s345.photobucket.com/user/Samhelm/media/helmet2_zpsndjxsuhh.jpg.html?filters[user]=145987222&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0 http://s345.photobucket.com/user/Samhelm/media/helmet3_zpslnhhawjv.jpg.html?filters[user]=145987222&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=1 http://s345.photobucket.com/user/Samhelm/media/helmet4_zpsadcmsgpb.jpg.html?filters[user]=145987222&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=3
  15. I need help identifying this, any ideas? http://postimg.org/gallery/1vraaqgqk/3533b04d/
  16. A friend of mine owns this and will sell it to me if I offer him enough money and we can agree a price on it, though never having seen another for sale I have no real idea what to offer him. It's a mark one star with First Aid Nursing Yeomanry decal on it.
  17. Hi guys, I'm new here and was wondering if anyone could identify this piece and whether or not it's original or just a worn out fake. A few details to add that you may not see in the picture are the black-white-red krokades on the left side. I also noticed that there were no ventilation holes on the spike, and the base is oval, unlike other models I've been able to look up online. Thanks in advance!
