Another great set of citations - and again a wealth of signatures; Friedrich Weber, Friedrich Herrnlein and especially that of Hans Krebs on the Sturmabzeichen citation.

Can only follow also a very interesting career this man had as well able to survive all these years of war from 1941-45 (maybe even earlier than 1941). The decorations he earned show proof of his share in war. It's sad there are no photographs to this set.

Fantastic grouping! But: No hero? Who knows! Not every soldier got the awards he should have got!

Kind regards, Peter

Hi Peter,

you are absolutly right! My headline should have been a liitle bit sarcastically. Meanwhile most of the document collectors are looking at the awards of a grouping and not for the details and the story behind.

Here we have a typical example. All the years in the same unit (renamed twice) several times wounded and did his duty but no IC 1. For the most collectors no hero - for me a interesting and fascinating grouping.

Glad that you see it the same ways.

best regards

Walle

That is a nice set of documents.... I do like Fla Btl. grups anyway....however as has been mentioned......an EK II he is a hero already! High awards are not everything.....at least three days for his Sturmabzeichen and separate days to count for his Flakabzeichen. Wounded three times!!!

So he wasn't sat on his arse!! Except when he was driving of course...

I have a couple of groups to Fla Btl. 55 but off the top of my head they were different Kompanien.
