Please Help me identify my husbands Helmet

Recommended Posts

Dear all.

A few years back we purchased what we were told was a WW1 helmet.  My husband lovingly restored it and added it to his WW1 collection.  Today I was trying to buy it a liner for our up coming Wedding Anniversary so started to research it and from what I've found it doesn't seem to be genuine. But I'm far from an expert.

Could anyone please help.  I'd be beyond grateful.

I hope it's ok to do multiple posts so I can upload photos  apologies if not

I believe the first letter is a backwards D then Z

below it there's a faint 6 followed by 6T

Kindest.

Susie.

Hello Susie,

i most disappoint you with the schell, it's a American helmet WW1, with the heat-stamps ZD ( 1917 )

The attachment's for the chinstrap are solid rivet, the Britsh made brodies are split rivet

You can take a look by the sub-forum ( the brodie Helmets and its devirates )

Greetings, Rudi
