Diamondholder Theodor "Löwe von Wilna" (Lion of Wilna) Tolsdorff (03.11.1909, Lehnharten - 25.05.1978) who recived the Knights Cross on 04.12.1941, the Oak Leaves on 15.09.1943 as Major, the Swords on 18.07.1944 as Oberstleutnant and the Diamons on 18.03.1945 as Generalmajor. In the postwar picture we see him in his house in Wuppertal where he lived with his wife Lore.

In the course of the Second World War, this man was wounded 14 times, including a bullet shot in the right leg, a head shot and a half-lost foot. In July 1976, he broke his right leg, suffered a fracture of the skull in an car accident a few years before, and later the left foot was shattered by a fallen longwood - the man seemed not to be small.

'Tolsdorff was tough against others, but harder against himself' - Herbert Singer, regimental adjutant under Tolsdorff
