Question About Emblem on M1917A1 or "Kelly"Helmet

Recommended Posts

Hi,

About a month ago I got a British helmet from an estate sale for a nice deal. I noticed that it has the emblem pictured in the photo on the front, I tried to do some research and came away empty handed as to what the emblem is. Does anyone know what it might mean, whether it indicates anything about the soldier, etc, if so, I would love to know.

FYI: In the picture there is 5 golden feathers but the highest one is mostly covered up since the picture couldn't be posted any larger.

Never mind, for some reason it showed the feather being covered up before I Downloaded to the post, don't pay attention to the "FYI" statement I made.

Please ignore this post, I have found out what the emblem is, it means that the soldier was in an African American unit.
