Guys,

I have asked Thomas Durante to look this one over as I have never seen one with a broad pin before. He has informed me it is an unusual S&L variant and is or has all wartime componants as there is some controversy. Apparently S&L continued making badges post war from original dies but not in this configuration. I know it means nothing but it has come direct from an estate of some one recently deceased. I am still hoping to get the paperwork and photo albums when the family are finished sorting through it all.

Hello Rich,

I checked our database, Jan Arne has uploaded a variant like this:

The pin does not look like a post war made variant to me.

I didn't know we had a data base! Cool! Was Jan Arne a long time collector?
