Hello,

Question to all, how long dit they make this mkii liners?

I have a MKII liner of 1954.

Anybody any nothings?

The Mk2 helmet was still being used by the British army up until the early 50's. 1950-53ish.

 Here's an 55 dated one, not seen any later, but there could be.

Its a bit sad that so many post-war Brit helmet dates are unclear / unknown...even the modern ones. There MUST be records somewhere stating when a certain liner or shell type commenced "official" use. And end-dates are vague too...things seem to take ages to totally disappear....and there's certainly no last-one-withdrawn-dates which is also a shame. There's always an example dated past the one we all think is the oldest (or latest).

Well worth getting, lord knows how long before the book on British combat helmets will ever take to come out, but most of the info on liners and lugs etc is all in this one.
