Tunic, Captain G.S.Woods 41st

Recommended Posts

A Blue Patrol tunic recently came into my hands, inside one of the pockets was a cloth tailor's label with the following typed on it

"24.11.52"

"Capt. G.S.Woods"

"41st"

The rank insignia is for a Lieutenant Colonel, but I can see where there were three 'pips' on the epaulettes at one time.

He had the following awards by the end of his Service..... Assuming that he didn't get a new tunic made

Member of the British Empire

Military Cross

1939-1945 Star

Burma Star (with Bar, so according to my research probably awarded the Pacific Star)

Defence Medal

War Medal 1939-1945.

I've only got limited photos at this time as its away being cleaned and treated for moths.
