Because there were so many DK winners, I'd suggest a separate thread for each service, Heer, Luft, KM and SS otherwise it could become huge and unwieldy trying to find an individual.

 

I have loads of U-Boot DK winner images I can share.

 

Here is one to kick off.

The tall guy is Hans Gottermeyer.

 

The two friends Otto and Hans both served together on U 103, and again on U 198, Hans was D-Obermaschinist and Otto E-Obermaschinist, after U 198's first war patrol both received the DKiG.

Due to skin problems (contained during the first war patrol) Hans couldn't join U 198 on her second war patrol, U 198 was sunk with all hands, Hans did survive the war.

Not an original photo but one from a period magazine taken by Heinz Tischer of Kpt.Lt, Heinrich Hille L.I. of the HK Thor.

 

Hille served on both cruises of the Thor.This image was taken in Singapore on the Thor's 2nd cruise.
