Luftwaffe Visor Peaks & Shapes

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Collectors love visors for a number of reasons; two of which are the peak and overall shape.  From the highest, stiff peak to the rumpled "crusher," there is a visor for everybody.  I enjoy studying visors from all angles, especially the side profile, which affords a good view of the variations in peak and thickness to the sides.

Feel free to add your own Luft visor profile shots here if you like.  Mine happen to be officer rank, but all ranks are welcomed and encouraged!

Jason, thank your for starting this..it is very interesting to watch these. And for some reason it is affecting my wish to buy. I have recently bought a LW medical white summer tunic from a WAF member (I will show when it arrives, but you know it), and he told me the white cap belonging to the tunic was for sale in sweden. But, interesting to myself, even if the cap is fine, I do not like the shape..!!..so, I will not buy this.

Anyway, here is my Peküro from the side...distincly different from yours..

Hans - that is a nice one.  Have you posted the entire visor in its own thread?  I, for one, would love to see it!

Jason - you have some beautifully shaped visors! And Hans yours is a tall one!

Here are two of mine with multiples of the Paul Kaps as it deserves the attention IMO. Such a jaunty shape!

Thanks so much, Pierre.  It is indeed difficult to find pieces like this.  I consider myself fortunate for having sourced what I have thus far.  Always looking for more, if anybody knows of any!
