Greetings, Well a month ago, I did not have a collection but thanks to making a few inquiries, I have amassed several fine pieces that are on their way to my collection in Alaska.

I am indeed happy to add these to my collection.

Here are a few others.

Kreuzer Emden, Torpedoboot Möwe, what I thought was the Saar was not and so this is an unidentified wappen, and Schleswig-Holstein

Thanks for looking.

JustinG

It was this forum and its members who helped me track down one of my shields (Soon to be posted Scharnhorst) I acquired and then it was just timing as I met someone who was liquidating their collection.

:)

Thanks, It has only been 3 weeks since seriously collecting these.  Talk about good timing and being in the right place at the right time (and having the necessary funds of course)  :)

Regards,

JustinG

Were these used ON the ships?

These were the crests that would be on the Bow either on the direct front or on the Starboard and Port Fore Quarter.  They were usually offered for sale by firms during the launching/commissioning of a ship.  I believe they were also available to crew as well.   This picture of the Graf Spee is from the Bundesarchiv.  You can see the wappen near the bow.

I love collecting these and they will look killer with a display showing a photo and the Muetzenband of the ship. Have been working on creating something nice.

The more popular ships there is a market for post war produced pieces so one has to be careful.

Thanks for looking.

The Artillerieschulschiff Bremse and the Torpedoboot Jaguar.

Thanks very much John R. for giving me the opportunity to acquire these from your collection.
