KM and naval collection from Croatia

Recommended Posts

I was finally able to properly restore a pair of Royal Yugoslav naval epaulettes.

Those cyphers are extremely rare (many gold to be found, but none silver).

A friend found them in a theater, so I got them for free :-)

And another piece I bought.

I think I might collect more stopwatches and watches.

Both pocket and wrist ones ;-)

Something fresh.

This one brings me a headache today, but when you have good friends collectors, any problem can be solved.

This is rare nicely vaulted tombac S&L U-boat badge (Thanks to Hubert for confirming) which I found online.

Buying option was "buy it now", price was good but I haven't had funds on my PayPal account, and for some

strange reason I couldn't transfer from my other one :-(.

A friend bought it for me, and I am really happy now!

I hope you guys will enjoy at least a part of what I feel about it.

Great catch, glad you could get it!

This is very nice and very hard to find u-boat badge. Out of all u-boats made in tombak I only miss Meybauer and... S&L ;)

Cheers,

Hubert

What a journey it was ;-)

A guy put it on eBay, than I couldn't transfer funds from one to another bank account and pay because it was sunday,

than I asked a friend to buy it for me, than he bought but the seller cancelled the purchase and refunded the money,

than a friend reported the seller to eBay, than a seller came back to him directly and sold it for the second time

and it seems now it's all OK. We'll see.

Huh!

Huh, hope all is fine and you'll get it finaly :) I'd never expect to find such a star on ebay, in this ocean of ugly fakes...

I couldn't believe, also, but some of my top pieces came from there, so I know nothing is impossible.

Just got my long awaited Austro-Hungarian NCO Mannlicher M-95 bayonet,

which was also used by K.u.K. Kriegsmarine, with no special markings.

Shown here with M-24 Royal Yugoslav (center) and Mannlicher M-95 (right).

Scabbards left aside for a nice photo.

Hi guys,

not much going on recently but I found one nice and rare photo from my area of interest.

First German "tourists" on Vis island in Adriatic, in 1945, in the town of Komiza.

Germans never, in fact, dared to attack Vis so the photo is showing the prisoners captured all over Croatian coast and islands which were interrogated and kept on the Vis till the end of the WW2.

Later, till 1990 that island was closed for all non-Yugoslav nationalities due to large military forces being held there.

Also, a nice article and video about the island in WW2: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/croatia/8529443/Croatian-island-of-Vis-remembers-World-War-Two-role.html

Hi guys!

For a New Year present to myself, I have just acquired C37e Scprechgarnitur from 1942, with adapter cable to connect it to Kriegsmarine FF33 field telephone.

Not very rare pice but anyway I was looking to find an affordable one fro quite a long time, to fill my KM communications equipment sub-collection.

And this rare beauty also landed into my war room recently.

Royal Yugoslav naval officer's sword, 2nd model in quite nice shape.

I was looking this one for 3 years, and it finally came.

And it was found in my town, which brings bigger smile ;-)

And one more extremely rare item, bad weather Austro-Hungarian naval jacket which belonged to SM U-40 crew member.

It's dated 1918 inside and is in perfect shape for such an old garment.

Hi guys, after seeing your collections, I decided to make my own thread with my collection.

I have started serious collecting some three years ago, and my main focus is on Kriegsmarine,

but I also collect stuff of all the navies that were stationed or fighting in Adriatic sea, like

Austro-Hungarian, Royal Yugoslav, Independent state of Croatia, Italy, France etc...

First I'd like to show recent state of my war room, which is really small but I am trying to use every corner possible.

It's still work in progress, so some items are being moved around between photos.

Enjoy!

Hello Amiklic1,

looks really great. If I may ask , where do you get the frame on the wall for blouses or tops from?
Have these homemade or purchased ?
If purchased , where do you get this from?

Great idea!

best regards,
Consi

Andjelo, great headset, not easy to find in good condition and complete. The FF332 adapter is still missing in my collection.

Very good start of a new year guys!!!

I have just won this magnificent and extremely rare piece.

I was looking for one for years, and it's a huge step forward to collect all cloth insignia used in Kriegsmarine for me.

Hope you like it at least partly as I do ;-)

Hi Andjelo,

Thank you for showing us your good start of the new-year.

It is a nice Geschützführer E = Einzelgeschütz Abzeichen für Sonderausbildung.

That one is not that easy to find and finding one with the blue background is more difficult.

Best regards

Eric-Jan
