Australian 1916 dated slouch hat

Recommended Posts

Strewth Bob, that is a real beauty and such a rare slouchie.  There was a WWI dated example that sold on ebay a few months back that went for an absolute bucket of money.

Your  not kidding Bob, all absolutely beautiful, and very desirable.  Is the slouchie for the light horse?

Hi Jerry

No markings on the slouch hat except for the maker stamp on the liner, ...

He has a nice 1st war tunic, I will have to dig out the photos of that and post them too.....

Hi Bob

It would be great to see the tunic.  I asked about the slouchie because it had the feather which I thought was only used on light horse examples, though I noticed when looking again that it is badged to signals.

Ah, my mistake, I thought you meant the 1916 marked slouch hat, I don't recall what markings are on the Signals hat, next time I visit I will have to do some

more photos of that one....

(I have to dig out the uniform photos, they are on a disc, been a bit slack.... sorry !)

Be good to see it when you can Bob, but no hurry, when it suits you will be fine.
