Well as the Forum Admin of this Forum I think I should take the first step. My main area interest or which I like are Personal items (ID's, Photographs..) from the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS, especially with personal stories. I like to investigate and research to search out more about Soldiers / Units (esp. 12. SS-Panzer-Division HJ). At this moment I am only collecting material of one unit - due I have a marriage coming up.

What I do?

Respect for your job Bart... not everybody can do that.

To indroduce myself:

My name is Nick, live in the Netherlands. Sell and restore antiques for a living, started my own business this year after being put out of work last december.

Have a big passion for the 5th Fallschirmjäger division and the battles in the Eifel in 1945. And collect documents related to these two subjects.

My hobby's are fishing, metaldetecting and photography.

And further I can enjoy a good glass of German Weißbier.

Kind regards

Nick

Hi to all,

I just got the invite from Bart in WAF so I joined up straight away. On other forums I go by "The Dragon".

I live in Dublin. I collect Luftwaffe qualification badges operational flight clasps and the occasional tunic but in general I like all things flight related.

I have recently set up a website of my own in Ireland which has a small museum section and sales section. It is nothing special but I hope to build it up over time.

Thank you for the invite.

Great to get all of this information from you guys! Very cool.

I am from Canada and I work as an Advertising Sales Account Executive. My collecting interests are varied but I have previously focused on helmets and all things Luftwaffe Flak related with emphasis on flak tunics. I'm branching out again and would now best describe myself as a 'set collector' where I build a complete soldier out of a couple of center pieces adding all of the various uniform accoutrements.

I received an invite this morning from someone named HouweTrouwe (Hi Bart!) via PM on WAF and ambled over to take a peek and joined. Some may know me from GHW (German Helmet Walhalla) where I admin and WRF (War Relics Forum) where I mod the SS Helmet section or WAF where I pretty much stick to the helmet section.

I see some familiar faces here like Adam, Anders, Scott, Bob Coleman, and others and know them to be great guys and thought I'd join up. My hobbies are history and battlefield touring, militaria collecting with a passion for SS helmets but I've branched into Canadian uniforms and badges in the past year in a big way. I love researching pieces and finding out more about the soldiers that once relied on these items for their survival and their role and units role in history. And of course I love hockey being Canadian.

My time is limited right now as work is very busy but I'll check in and post as I can.

Cheers

Doug

Hi Gents......Some of you may know me as pantherv on WAF but on most other forums as PeterBL.

My collecting interests focused mainly on Campaign shields where at one time I had a huge collection but for the last couple of years have taken a bigger interest in the Kriegsmarine and especially the U-Boats.

I still moderate the Campaign shield section over on GCA.

Spent 25 years as a floor layer but now own a company in the South of England specializing in luxury LVT floors.

I was invited by Bart from being on the WAF and I am glad to be here and to see a few familiar user names from there and from WarRelics and GHW etc. I am the son of a WWII vet and I have long been interested in military history and have been collecting for many years. Mostly I am interested in the war in N Africa and Italy and tropical items are my thing along with insignia, though I have an interest in most things and have a varied collection.

Hello all, my name is Eduardo, most of you probably know me from other forums as km-spain. I started collecting TR militaria in 1996 and focused in Kriegsmarine because I love the naval branch, I studied 12 years in a Naval School and have a lot of relatives, included some Admirals, in the Spanish Navy.

I've been collecting blue uniforms and naval instruments for many years, but from some years ago I'm very focusing in the land units of the Kriegsmarine.

I hope I can help the forum and Bart (thanks for your invitation) as moderator of the Kriegsmarine uniforms sub.forum.

Hello All:

My name is Bill Murray, I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area of the US.

I am 72 years old and have been collecting materiel on the subject of wheeled military transport vehicles 1935-1945 since about 1956. I include in my research

not only "dedicated" military vehicles but also the thousands of impressed or confiscated civilian vehicles used by pretty much all forces.

I am now retired from my last endeavour, the owning of a HobbyTown USA franchise which I have now turned over to my son after 20 years.

Prior to that, I worked for several years for American auto dealers and then I spent roughly 12 years with Volvo and 12 years with SAAB.

During my time with Volvo, I spent two years in Sweden, two years in Peru and two years in Canada

From 1956 to about 1995 when the Internet became fairly functional, I collected "hold it in your hands" materiels. Photos, books, brochures and so on.

Since then, most of my photo collection has been images from the Internet.

I would be most happy to help other members who collect photos try to identify those photos that include vehicles that they may not be familiar with.

Please understand, I do not position myself as an expert, more an enthusiastic amateur.

I sincerely hope that Bart's new Forum is a big success.

Cheers

Bill

I also came here through Bart. He contacted me at WAF where I used to be a moderator. I presently am a moderator at WRF. My main collecting interests are items related to the political organiztions of the 3rd Reich, antique Japanese swords and ceramics and painted American A-2 flight jackets from the 8th Airforce. My special interests are headgear, uniforms and flags. I began collecting in 1956 when I received a Hitler Jugend armband from my mother's cousin. He had been a truck driver in the U S Army during the war. That Christmas, my uncle gave me my greatest want-a German helmet. After that, the addiction was deep in to my persona. I spent nearly 30 years seriously collecting and studying the Japanes sword. I lived in Japan for a short time and learned much during that tenure.

I wish this new forum the best of luck in the future.
