Recommended Posts

Generalfeldmarschall Ernst Busch

The award ceremony was on January 30th, 1943

The current whereabout of his baton is thought to be in a private collection.

Großadmiral Karl Dönitz

The award ceremony took place on January 30th, 1943

Currently at the Shropshire Regimental Museum, Shrewsbury (UK)

Is it really ?

I went to see this Batton and it was in the middle of the room behind thin glass. No sucurity what so ever.

The story i got told and yes its hear say is that the germans came over with an exact copy to this museum.

Well considering how it was displayed even i could of walked off with it.

I dont believe its the original.

We will never know.

A very rare photo of Wilhelm Keitel's baton, taken during the 60's by his daughter Ekelin. It was sold in 2009.

Was not a member when this was posted. Excellent post and I have been on "The Marshall's Baton" site. I was privileged to handle in the early 80's the primary baton of FM Ritter von Leeb in its case .I held it and admired for its being a historical piece of THE THIRD REICH!

An interesting group of field-marshals, including a rare sight of GFM Eduard Freiherr von Böhm-Ermolli on the left (look at this baton).
