Some trade insignia and eagles

Recommended Posts

thanks Amiklic1 for your reply!

when I ask for the prices I meant if they are very scarce for example? That would explain why their price its higher compared with other insignia of the wehrmacht.

cordial Greetings

Humberto

With regards to insignia and KM pricing.  Like anything, it is what ever the market dictates.  There are some that are in high demand due to their rareness.  As posted earlier the M and V ratings badges had a very short lived history.

The number of qualified individuals in a particular rating can also be a factor (There are a lot more boatswains mates and general engineers than say a Gun engineer, signal man, etc...)

I have looked into this specialty for about 2 years now.   It seems like in the last 10 months, the activity has picked up and more people seem to be aware and interested in acquiring some of these pieces.  They are for the most part, quite reasonably priced.  Many dealers carry some of the standard ones for around 45Euro or perhaps a bit higher.

Just to let you know, there are no metal versions for the dive badge.  :)

The most expensive cloth insignia is the Kleinkampfverbande sawfish badges which are extremely rare and expensive.  Lots of forgeries for them as they are extremely expensive.  The Standard bearer insignia is also quite rare and expensive.

Hope that helped.

Small battle units patches are quite rare, indeed, but based on my review of the market, I'd say that the most expensive is a Standard bearer one. It's almost impossible to find,  and there were really small number of them produced, I believe. Here is the piece I got few years ago, and I am extremely happy to have it.

It's one of the pieces one thinks will never land in his collection, usually, but it's here. I've paid a premium price, but it's worth every cent :-)

Larry, that's a really nice collection.

Long way to go, but just be patient and most of it will appear here or there, I am sure.

To be on the same path, here are some of my pieces.

Not updated but mostly that's it, just few new pieces apart of it now.

Just to note that reserve career Matrose and lower NCO I suspect are post-WW2, based on

thread and construction.

That is a really impressive collection, thanks for posting.

I just picked up these two items last night. Both attributed to the same man.

Great collections guys and thanks for sharing.

I'm not a collector of the Eagles or Trade Insignia but i do like to collect photo's of the Insignia in wear on the KM uniform.

Here is one of my favorites showing the Divers sleeve Insignia in wear.

Regards,Martin.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for sharing your nice photo with us on the forum.

Photo shows his Dienstgradabzeichen der Unteroffiziere ohne Portepee : Zimmermannsmaat.

And his Abzeichen für Sonderausbildung : Schiffstaucher.

Best regards

Very nice photo Martin, not seen very often.

This Taucher patch for white uniform looks different to other patches I have seen. The blue has been replaced with a light purple.

Is this a genuine example?

Larry

Hi Larry,

From your photo I would say a good U-Boots - und Bergungstaucher example.

But that is my humble opinion.

I wouldn't worry about the blue / purple color.

Thanks for showing.

Best regards

Thanks guys.

Looks like the patch has sold. I wonder who bought it.

Years ago when I started collecting photos you could buy very good ones for a couple of dollars. As collecting photos

became more popular prices went up. Now a high-end photo or portrait will cost you plenty. Collecting KM insignia/trade patches is catching on

and as demand rises so will prices.

Cheers,

Larry

And the seller of that diver patch on eBay is VERY reliable.

Marc is one of the pioneers of the hobby.

And about who on Ebay are we talking .......?
