Hi all,

Just thought I would share my observations on Mercian cap badges, the double headed eagle and crown badge used by the Mercian Brigade in the 1950s/1960s and now with the current Mercian Regiment.

Here are my observations and I hope they are useless for ID purposes,

Nice badges. Is the red badge for yeomanry? I have seen the pattern before but not a badge and wondered what it was.

Thanks also for your comments on the site. It's my pet project and I hope it will grow, although compared to some other branches it is hard to find items.

[This is an example of a current issue Officer's bronze cap badge, fitted to a Service cap. It is attached with loops and a pin but I do not know if it is maker marked, and am reluctant to remove it.
