Recommended Posts

Woooooow Morten.......

I do like that one very much, such an award document for a MKP man.

A rare combination and not seen that often.

Thank you for sharing that one with us on the forum.

Best regards

Eric-Jan

ps. really worth a double posting on the forum, ......also in the document section

Very nice Martin. NCO is definitely MKP. I'd say the officer is too. You can just make out the edge of a sleeve eagle on his left sleeve. Don't see MKP officers too often.

Just got another MKP band. Going by the identical embroidery and edging, I'm sure its made by the same firm as my other piece (lower piece in the photo) which was rescued from a former KM establishment in Norway.

The new piece is identical to the one I bought from the Brian L Davis collection many years ago and stupidly traded away so delighted to get an exact identical replacement after so many years.

Beautiful Ärmelband! Do you have a photograph to go with this one in wear?

Photos showing the MKP band being worn are quite rare. There are a few in this thread already but so far I have never found a really sharp portrait photo which shows all the insigna clearly. Plenty for Feldgendarmerie of the Heer, Luftwaffe and SS but sadly not yet for the MKP.

Awesome Soldbuch. Not often I am jealous of other peoples stuff, but I love this one !

The Minesweeper Badge is the normal award for the MKP ( bear in mind its full title as for Minesweepers, "U-Boat Chasers and Security Units ". If you ever want to part with that one, please keep me in mind !

Great picture. Would anyone know what rank these sailors are ?

The gentlemen on the left with the EK1 and what appears to be Baltic cross as well as another (Ironcross body design ???)  His rank would be Kaptäin zur See.  I don't believe he could be a Commodore as there doesnt appear to be a double layer scaloped oakleaf on the brim of his visor.

I would think that the gentlemen on the right side of the photo would be an Lieutenant zur See.

This is my theory.  Thanks,

JustinG

A very tasteful display.  Congratulations. I was curious how the gorget was worn  I had assumed it would have been much like the Feldgendarmerie.   Nice job.

Best Regards,

JustinG
