The Welch Regimant officers forage cap

Recommended Posts

Arrived today, a fairly recent example, 1960's or thereabouts (+or-10 years? though pre 1969), but with its original POW two part metal buttons and also its proper Silver and Gilt officers badge.  No makers mark on the cap that I have found so far, but I'll have  another look later.

Jerry can you take the badge off it should be on loops if silver gilt.

Right up my street this cap and im sure you do this to wind me up :w00t:

Joking apart a great addition even for a cap badge collector who loves welsh/welch regiment cap badges.

As you know i have an extensive hord of them.Shown below.

Dave, it is on loops, though I don't want to take it of as the pins runs behind a strengthener for the front and it will be a pain to get the pin back in.  I have found on a few of my caps with lugged badges that they can be a real pain to put back on if removed for pictures.

I'm glad you like it and I was glad to get it, though it was quite pricey compared to many of my other peaked caps.

Hi jerry i do not blame you for not wanting to take it off.
Looking at it,it compares to a gaunt but it is hard to tell from  pictures without seeing the reverse.
Anyway its a nice addition
