Is the Pour le Mérite holder perhaps Generalleutnant Ernst Schaumburg?

Yep, you are right, Pierce: Ernst Schaumburg.

By the way, behind Schaumburg is at this time Polizei-General Karl Strecker (Ritterkreuz; am 2. Februar 1943 im Nordkessel, Stalingrad, in sowjet. Kriegsgefangeschaft).

Another two are - behind in the middle is General der Landespolizei Walter WAHRBURG and behind on the left is Generalleutnant Georg POTEN.

Excuse me, Lado, but I think he is not Muff. Besides, he is not a PLM holder.

Jaime you are right and I stand corrected. I've checked my files and on the same picture I have him as MUFF and on others as unidentified. I guess he must have been once wrongly identified as MUFF and I forgot to check or correct it on those pictures. Thank you for pointing this out for me.

Interesting to note, that he was completely blind since 1926.

Nevertheless Thomsen was promoted Generalmajor on 1935 and General der Flieger on 1939.

He died in 1942 with 75 years still being an active Luftwaffe offier (!)
