Hello Gardejager, although you signed up in 2012 this is your first post on the Forum, and what kind of one! That's a beautiful Medal Bar. Thanks for sharing.

P.S. If possible please include 2 attachments per post at the moment, reason for this is stated here: http://www.historicalwarmilitariaforum.com/announcement/3-attachments-are-now-full-size-2-per-post/
This is requested for mobile and tablet devices, I currently cannot set the amount of attachments per post (only memory size) and when too much attachments are posted at once per post, threads
may become incredible large on mobile devices (where text and buttons may get lost within it) whilst otherwise the thread gets paginated after a few posts.

Hello Raoul,

Thanks for sharing your interesting medal bars. Love the Bar with the Belgium Leopold II  and Landwehr 20 years long service Decoration. The bar with the Turkish order is also interesting with the  position of the Flanders cross preceeding the Cross of Honour. Any chance of pictures of the reverse.

Regards Mark

Very nice awards, everybody!   Please keep them coming.

Below is a Prussian Merit Cross in gold (gilt):

As you can see, much of the gilt has worn off.

This was only awarded from 1912-1918 and the award was to be returned after the death of the recipient.  However, with the abdication of the monarchy most recipients probably kept their awards.
