Very good to see such a fine collection of your Fathers items Gordon, you must be very proud of him. Always good to see a group with the TA medal.

Yes, the TA medal is rather nice, and the only one of the set in real silver.

Very pleased also to have been able to have his Paybook and his old CMP Warrant Card, a bit different to the plastic thing I had to carry.

Sadly I have very few photos of him in uniform. As one of the tallest, he was always in the back row on group photos with only head and shoulders visible. Then, recently, pure chance led me to a website with a photo from one of his old units in 1946, and there he was in the front row. The owner of the image kindly made me a gift of the original photo.

There really are some nice people out there !

Finally got round to sticking my fathers stuff in a frame. "Hobbycraft" in the UK sell nice deep frames that can take solid objects rather than just flat photos, and do nice non reflective glass, all reasonably priced.

Still awkward to get a decent photo though even with non reflective glass.

Superb Gordon.

A wonderful framed display of your dad's awards, insignia and documents.

What a fine set of medals he had too,a lot of "Stars".

You must be very proud of this grouping.

Thanks for showing this and as you have said to me before there is nothing that can compare with family related military items.

Regards,Martin.

Thanks guys. I am going to make a small change and take out the Paybook which is nice to look through but doesn't exactly display well in a frame, and replace with his commendation certificate which I think will look better.

Dear Sir.

This is a mere enquiry with regards to the CMP Warrant Card.

I am a re-enactor as an ATS Provost, and have been struggling in vain to find a replica of this document. Would it be possible to ask the dimension's of the item.

If you have any photographs of the inside pages would also prove most valuable in designing one for myself.

Kindest Regards

Kerry McCabe
