Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regt Officers s/gilt cap badge.

Recommended Posts

This is a silver plated and gilt cap badge for an Officer of the Bedfs & Herts Regt.

These can be distinguished from the collar badge of similar size by the long lugs needed to go through the Officers Service Dress cap.

The reverse showing the JR Gaunt London mark. I assume the P is for plated.

Also there was some wording stamped below the P which has been obliterated.

The reverse. Gaunt on left. Firmin on right.

I also have examples of cap and collar badges that are not maker marked.

I believe these were worn post ww2 up to 1958.
