Small Austrian vet group ....

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Finally some time to claw back and post a few older and recent purchases and also apologize for my absence here.

Found this small group in Austria, and judging from the pieces in this group, could have belonged to a Austrian WW2 vet.

As to the "denazified" badges, I couldn't tell you if original, postwar Souval or cast Souval pieces though .... sorry.

Have a look, hope you look it !

A three-piece medal bar, minus the medals ... seems to be a Frontkämpfer, Ost and ???

Not entirely sure if this has anything to do with the group though ( seems quite modern ).

And here more snapshots of the individual medals itself ( left to right ) :

1. KvK 2nd class w/o swords  - seems to be a well made cast version ( Souval ? )

2. Ost Medal - same here, cast version ( Souval ) or postwar Souval ( swastika was drilled )

3. Police Medal ( 8 years ) - don't believe original, but cast version or postwar Souval ( swastika was drilled )

4. Unknown Hungarian medal ( I found some info only, however all in Hungarian language though )

5. Für Heimat und Volk - nice clean original piece veteran medal

6. Landeskameradschaftsbund Steiermark in gold ( 50 years )

7. Landeskameradschaftsbund Steiermark in silver ( ?? years )

Thanks for looking,

Mathijs

I hadn't noticed the love wear on the Ost medal when looking at this earlier.  Looks like he denazified the Police long service award as well
