  1. Named incorrectly, (what you get if you buy your garments from a London tailors with a Welsh surname) to David Reginald Llewellyn 24th regiment and dated 22/6/32 and he was gazetted 2nd Lt in Sept 1932. He was serving as a Captain with the 1st Bn SWB when he died in Irag in Nov 1941. His father also served with the SWB, Colonel William Herbert Clydwyn llewellyn and his brother was also KIA, he died on Dday with the RA, and he was also a captain and is buried in France. http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/33860/pages/5623 http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/2717790/LLEWELLYN,%20DAVID%20REGINALD
  2. A new pinned thread on Commonwealth cloth formation patches. show your examples here. I'll start with 3 examples of the WWII period British 6th armoured division, embroidered version.
  3. Picked up two pairs of these today, both seemingly belonging to the same man, one pair dirty and the other by comparison clean, so from his every day and best BD's I assume. These are hard to find and expensive when you do, so glad to get them for a good price.
  4. Picked this group up recently, 85 photos, all but 5 are marked with the locations in pen on the reverse, mostly Mersa Matruh, also Alex, Aden, Fuka etc... Some great pics of wrecked panzers, halftracks, 88mm's, one of German POW's, two of graves, soldier groups and lots of tourist type pics of the pryamids and the sphinx etc...
  5. A new arrival, an original WWII poster warning against loose talk, Tittle Tattle Lost the Battle. It has been framed, though not very well and shows some minor wear from where it has been stored folded up. Original period posters are hard to find and quite expensive so glad to get this one as it is in good condition and the price was pretty good.
  6. Recent pick up, late war Kangol wear limited khaki beret as used by senior officers and also OR's of some units such as the recon corps, and motorised infantry. In unissued condition with some storage wear in the form of some light surface moth tracking. Still with its paper tag, broad arrow marked L for 1945, size 7 &1/4 and dated 1945.
  7. Arrived today, 1937 to 1953 period OR's coloured field service cap, a well used but still good condition example, blue with golden yellow crown piping. The buttons are worn from polishing and the inside is stained with hair cream. I already had a universal pattern for the Welch, but not the coloured version which goes nicely with those I have for the RWF and the SWB, as well as those I have for some other non Welsh units.
