Knight's Cross of Iron Cross 1939: fake or real? 4of4

Recommended Posts

I premise that I am an Iron Cross collector of all times. Now I am living near Brenner pass where a lot of German unit surrendered in the last days of WWII. I have this Knight's Cross since more than 30 years but I always ask to myself if it could be a real piece or a fake. It seems thi award belonged to a Luftwaffe General. The suspension loop is not original, and is very strange the mark "800" on ring even some manufacturer (Zimmermann) placed silver content on ring.

Now, I hope someone will help me.

Thank you so very much.

Hi werWolf.Very interesting.I have one also that is marked L12 which I think is CE Juncker.Mine is cased & ribbon enclosed & is very similar looking to yours.Any way it has been considered a fake, but I feel it needs a closer look.Cheers Wolf.

Nowhere near an original Juncker, it is a dipping öse fake aka the "Morigi fake".

Please crop your photos before you upload them in one topic.

Regards,

Nick
