Anyone know what this chair came from?

Recommended Posts

Hi there

I found this forum whilst trawling the web looking for someone who might know what a chair we have might have once been used for.

It was my Grandad's (Born 1911) and he used it as his study chair until he died in 1992. I'm certain it must have come from the WWII years. From the small base with bolt holes I wondered if it might have come from a tank or even aircraft. The colour suggests tank to me but I'm far from an expert on anything to do with the military.

Does anyone here recognise it or have an idea what it might have been made for? Thanks in advance if anyone can help solve the mystery.

Best wishes,

Jonathan
